Looking back on my work it has been quite an emotional journey as it was difficult to talk to family members about there memories of my Grandad, as he only past away recently.
I think I would of like to make the story more interactive, but as a starting point of a growing story I think that by doing a radio show it was good place to start as it is solely focusing on the story.
Throughout the project I tired to use ambient sound and sound effects for the moments in the story that are quite emotional and sad, whereas when the mood of the story is happier the music should reflect this. When doing this project I was actually surprised by the help of my close family members and all of them have contributed to this project in one way or another, may this be telling me a memory or actually sitting with me and helping me put it together. It was very cathartic and has actually helped us to come to terms with certain things. Most importantly we have put together a story of how we would like to remember my Grandad.
Overall I have really enjoyed doing this project, I wish that I had longer to develop it even more and perhaps get other family members who I don’t see or have never met to contribute to this project. I think this is something that I can continue over time as I am trying to find out more about him and I would like to progress my project more by perhaps adding maps and any images that I find in the future. This is certainly only the beginning of this project.
